Welcome to the website of Probus Belgium

Mission: Probus wants to promote and to encourage a spirit of friendship and solidarity between people having reached the age of 55 years and who have, wholly or partially, retired from their profession or business. The members have an academic degree or have exercised a leading or socially important function; they come from different professional backgrounds.

In a stadium of their life when their existing social environment and their professional network that gave coherence to their identity are being eroded, the members of Probus hold regular meetings. In this way they can form new circles of friends focusing on a broadening of insight, enlargement of knowledge and interests, mutual understanding and entertainment.

The name Probus is derived from Association of retired PROfessional and BUSiness people.

At this moment there are over a hundred Probusclubs in Belgium, some mixed and some not. They receive their homologation from the C.I.C. (Center for Information and Coordination), they function as autonomous entities and believe in the adage
